HAMPTON, Ga. (June 18, 2026) – With rain anticipated Thursday evening,
the 2026 Thursday Thunder season continued with doubleheader action
Wednesday, producing first time winners, continued domination, and major
growth in several drivers’ points leads.
The Circle C Auto Sales Masters division gained its fifth winner in five
races in round five of Thursday Thunder as Scott Moseley of McDonough,
Ga. took home the victory. Moseley passed pole sitter Jeff Bolen
(Leesville, S.C.) after a hard-fought battle for his first win of the
year and his twenty fifth all time win on the Thunder Ring.
Moseley hoped to repeat his performance from round five in the round six
feature, and while he was tight on Bolen’s bumper throughout the race,
the No. 25 ultimately came away with the checkered flag.
“Running against Scott Moseley, he’s the best out here next to Doug
Stevens, and to run that close with him on our tail the whole time, it
really makes me proud of everything we are doing,” Bolen explained. He
became the first repeat winner in the Masters division this season, and
with a pair of top-two finishes took sole possession of the Masters
division points lead over Phillip Young of Dallas, Ga., with four races
to go.
In The Associates Group Insurance Pro division features Jensen Jorgensen
of Stockbridge, Ga., not only scored two victories but also accumulated
a large stack of passing points en-route to victory lane. Jorgensen
surged to the lead from fifth in both features, earning a milestone 50th
overall Thursday Thunder win in round five before adding his 51st career
victory in round six.
“(50 wins) is a really cool milestone to hit out here and I mean,
starting fifth and getting the win there with the passing points, I
think I just gave myself a lot of breathing room,” Jorgensen said in
victory lane. “I’m hoping I can get a few more wins! I want to end
on a good number this year, maybe 55?”
There was a first-time winner in round five of Thursday Thunder as Lucas
Palacio of Vienna, Va inherited the lead late in the Bennett
Transportation & Young Lions division feature when Turner Brown
(Sacramento, Calif.) and Colt Johnson (Houston, Texas) tangled in the
closing laps. Palacio held off Jaxon Burnett (Snohomish, Wash.) on a
restart with three laps to go to secure his first win on the Thunder
Ring.
Brown rebounded in the round six Young Lions feature to earn his third
victory of the season, holding off a hard-charging Johnson throughout
the race to secure the win.
Jackson Jones of Concord, N.C. became only the second driver to win in
the Incentive Risk Management Outlaws series this year, making a daring
three-wide move on a late restart to get around Carson Sherman
(Loganville, Ga.) in round five. Sherman returned to form in the second
feature of the night, securing the victory in round six. Sherman, the
defending Outlaws division champion, comfortably holds the points lead
over second place Mason Massey (Lucedale, Miss.).
Bryce Sanders of Ola, Ga., tightened his grip over the WJP Investments
Semi-Pro division championship after starting on the pole and leading
flag to flag in both the round five and six features. Through six races
Sanders has a perfect record in Thursday Thunder competition. and goes
into round seven next week hoping to add a seventh win to his perfect
batting average this year.
Likewise, it was sweep on Wednesday night for Casen Tate of Zebulon, Ga.
as he was victorious in both the round five and six features for the
Incentive Risk Management Bandits division in a pair of hard-fought
battles with Daylan Pennington. With the pair of wins, Tate took over
the points lead from Camden Powers (Hernando, Fla.), who now sits second
in the division standings.
The Incentive Risk Management Rookie Bandolero division saw a pair of
new winners Wednesday evening as Hudson Roberts (Monroe, Ga.) and Brody
Wright (Courtice, Ont.) each broke through to grab their first wins on
the Thunder Ring. In contrast, Trent Barfield of Hamilton, Ga., went
back-to-back in the WJP Investment Chargers racing experience features,
to secure three wins in a row.
Thursday Thunder racing continues next week with Round 7 on Wednesday
night, June 24th, and Round 8 on Thursday night, June 25th.
